This pillow is handmade with a technique called ikat. This is one of the oldest forms of textile decoration. Traditional ikat is a symbol of status, wealth, power and prestige. Because of the enormous time and skill required to weave ikat, some cultures believe that the fabrics are filled with magic.
The weaving process is extremely timeconsuming, it takes a weaver 5 days to finalize just 1 meter of ikat fabric.
